Blogs & Vlogs
Learning how to drive is hard enough already. If you're also trying to understand everything in a language that’s not your first, it can feel twice as hard.
At Kits Elite Driving School, we get it. That’s why we offer driving lessons in English, Persian (Farsi), and Turkish. Whether you’re studying for the knowledge test or practicing for your road test, it makes a big difference when the person next to you speaks your language.
We’re based in Kitsilano, but we work with students from all across Vancouver.
Why Language Support Matters
Driving involves more than just turning the wheel. You need to:
- Understand road signs
- Listen to instructions
- Answer questions during tests
- Read traffic rules
- Respond to situations quickly
If you’re trying to translate every word in your head while also focusing on the road, it becomes stressful fast.
When the instructor speaks your language, you feel calmer, ask more questions, and pick things up faster.
Languages We Offer
We currently teach in:
- English
- Persian (Farsi)
- Turkish
If you're more comfortable with one of these, just tell us when you book your first lesson. We’ll match you with an instructor who can help you in that language.
What If You Already Know How to Drive?
Many of our students already have a driver’s licence from another country. But driving in BC is different. There are new signs, new rules, and new expectations during the road test.
Even experienced drivers need help adjusting to:
- Four-way stops
- Playground and school zones
- Shoulder checks
- Rainy weather and hill starts
- Rules around cyclists and pedestrians
We explain these clearly, in your language, so you know exactly what to do — not just for the test, but for real life in Vancouver.
Help with the Knowledge Test
Before you can drive, you’ll need to pass the knowledge test. If English is not your first language, this part can be frustrating. The questions are detailed, and the wording is not always easy.
We help students prepare for the test using clear language and simple examples. We also teach how to spot tricky questions and how to stay calm under pressure.
If you're getting ready for your Class 7 learner’s licence or upgrading to a Class 5 licence, a few lessons in your own language can make all the difference.
You Don’t Have to Feel Embarrassed
Some people feel shy about asking for language support. You shouldn’t. Everyone learns better when they feel understood. We’ve taught hundreds of people from different countries and different backgrounds. There is no judgment, ever.

Final Word
Driving in Vancouver should not feel out of reach just because of language. You deserve to feel safe, confident, and ready. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.
At Kits Elite Driving School, we’re here to help you drive well — in the language that works best for you.
